MA-37

Multi-Pattern Large-Diaphragm Tube Condenser Microphone

The MA-37 Multi-Pattern Large-Diaphragm Tube Condenser Microphone from Mojave is a modern recreation of the venerable Sony C-37a, a studio workhorse mic popular in Hollywood studios from the 1960's, including Capital Records and Sunset Sound. Designed by David Royer, the MA-37 keeps the same single-diaphragm design from the original and employs an EF86 tube and Lundahl transformer to give the mic it's characteristically warm, natural sound. A mechanical switch on the mic allows you to toggle between cardioid and omnidirectional pickup patterns, giving the mic added versatility in the studio.

  • Delivers high headroom, tames brittle high end for smooth recordings
  • Single-diaphragm design based on legendary Sony C-37a vintage microphone popular in 1960s
  • Mechanical shutter on mic switches between omnidirectional and cardioid polar patterns
  • Features EF86 tube and Lundahl transformer
  • 30 Hz to 18 kHz frequency response (without high-pass filter engaged)
  • 3-stage high-pass filter
  • Handles up to 135 dB SPL
  • Integrated yoke mount
  • Includes power supply, cable, and hard case
