Charley Wilcoxon's books are great examples of "old school" rudimental style snare solos, and Modern Rudimental Swing Solos is no exception! This book starts with several pages detailing different roll and rudiments that are used in the solo portion of the book, serving as a key to what is written.
Then, Wilcoxon includes 30 solos ranging from 1-3 pages in length that use combinations of American Standard drum rudiments, quoting famous solos such as 'Downfall of Paris' and 'Three Camps'.
Most of the solos included are for snare drum only, though others include multiple drums (toms, bongos) and other percussion instruments (cowbells, woodblocks, etc.). This is a great book to study older rudimental style, and will certainly help build your chops!
