Seven-Piece Drum Microphone Kit
The Earthworks DK7 Gen 2 Seven-Piece Drum Microphone Kit provides seven microphones tailored for drums. Included are four DM20 Gen 2 mics for toms and snares, two SR25 Gen 2 mics for your overheads, and a DM6 for the kick drum. Rim mounts, clips, windscreens, and a rugged case are also included.
DM6 SeisMic Supercardioid Condenser Kick Drum Microphone
Get the kick drum sound you've been searching for quickly and easily with the Earthworks DM6 SeisMic Kick Drum Microphone. Unlike many kick drum mics that use a dynamic capsule to handle the high sound pressure levels coming from a drum or bass amp, the DM6 uses an innovative condenser capsule that delivers a rich detailed sound with a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response—all while being able to withstand SPLs up to 150 dB.
The mic capsule features a supercardioid pickup pattern that focuses sound capture tightly on the bass drum or bass amp, helping to greatly reduce bleed from other instruments and keep feedback from onstage monitors under control. The mic features an XLR connector and requires 48V phantom power for the condenser capsule. An M2-R ball-mount mic clip is provided that allows you to quickly and easily mount the DM6 to any standard mic stand or boom and precisely adjust the positioning for optimal results. A windscreen is also included.
DM20 Gen 2 Cardioid Condenser Microphone for Toms & Snares
The Earthworks DM20 Gen 2 updates the popular snare and tom drum microphone with improved active electronics, a revamped rim mount, and better overall performance. The mic features a cardioid condenser capsule designed specifically for recording or amplifying live drums—specifically your snare or tom-toms. The microphone features a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz in order to capture the full tonal palette of the drum.
Earthworks is well-respected for their transparent sound, and the DM20 Gen 2 is no exception. The capsule picks up frequencies evenly around the cardioid polar pattern within 6", ensuring no frequency coloration due to off-axis capture. Furthermore, the microphone offers improved rear sound rejection, so when you need to make sure your high-hat won't bleed into your snare track, or your snare won't bleed into your tom channel, you can position the mic to cut out the offending sound without changing the tonal characteristic of the intended drum.
The DM20 Gen 2 can handle sound pressure levels of up to 157 dB, which makes it able to stand up to the hardest hitting drummers. Furthermore, the condenser capsule has been fashioned in such a way that the diaphragm's innate vibration has been kept to a minimum; after the transient hits, it settles into its resting state a lot quicker than comparable mics, and thus, does not blur further transients.
The capsule sits on a flexible gooseneck that remains secure no matter how hard the drummer thwacks away. It is fashioned out of stainless steel to better withstand the rigors of the road, and ships with an RM2 Rim Mount for mounting the mic on your snare or tom.
SR25 Gen 2 Supercardioid Condenser Microphone for Drum Overheads (Matched Pair)
The SR25 Gen 2 (Matched Pair) from Earthworks is a stereo pair of condenser microphones designed specifically for capturing drum overheads, cymbals, and hi-hats for live performances and studio recording sessions.
Each mic's supercardioid pickup pattern provides exceptional rejection of off-axis signal and noise due to room ambiance, instruments, monitor speakers, and similar sources. Each mic features a condenser element that provides a warm, transparent sonic character with an even 20 Hz to 25 kHz frequency response. The capsule boasts an SPL rating of 148 dB, allowing exceptional reproduction of audio peaks without distortion and overload. This carefully selected matched pair of SR25 Gen 2 microphones includes two mic clips, two foam windscreen, and two storage bags.
New Active Electronics
The internal electronics have been hardened to draw less phantom power and additional protection features have been built in to safeguard against accidental hot swapping. We all know that you shouldn't plug in a condenser microphone with the power engaged but we also know that's an inevitability in the field sometimes. These new stacked changes make the SR25 Gen 2 more robust, more compatible, and more user-friendly.
Matched within 2 dB for Stereo Resolution
The wide and generous sweet spot makes these mics well suited for a wide variety of stereo recording placement techniques. A staggering SPL rating of 145 dB helps to ensure your attack won't distort or overload.
Built for Touring, Used Everywhere
The SR25 Gen 2 stereo overhead mics are incredibly versatile and built for live sound reinforcement. They capture all the details of a condenser microphone, but perform with the usability of a dynamic mic. This makes them ideal for streaming and video recordings and also for all studio work environments.
