Large-Diaphragm Cardioid Condenser Microphone
Due to its clever design elements, the Audix A133 large-diaphragm condenser microphone lets you clearly capture varied sources such as vocals and acoustic instruments without relying on an external shockmount and pop filter to control extraneous noises. Its internal shockmount handles the task of reducing vibrations while the grille and underlying foam provide resistance to pops or plosives. Plus, you can use the onboard switches to engage the pad and high-pass filter, which help avoid distortion and bass buildup, respectively.
The electret condenser capsule features a 1.1" gold-sputtered diaphragm and a cardioid polar pattern, yielding versatile and full-range frequency reproduction along with off-axis sound rejection that helps to lessen the pickup of room ambience and stage bleed. With a precision-machined aluminum body, this mic is built to survive the rigors of daily session use or life on tour.
Versatile Applications
The A133 is a large-diaphragm condenser microphone ideal for vocals, choir, piano, acoustic instruments, and overheads. Featuring a contemporary, compact design, the A133 is an ideal choice for podcasting, professional audio production, studios, and live stage performances.
Electret Condenser Capsule
Housed in a precision-machined aluminum body, the 33mm fixed-charge capsule features a gold-sputtered diaphragm for wide, natural frequency response. With its well-behaved cardioid polar pattern, the A133 faithfully captures the detail of the performance while rejecting room noises and other unwanted, off-axis sounds.
Onboard Switches
Located on the front of the A133 are two switches, one to activate the -10 dB pad and the other to engage the 150 Hz high-pass filter. The pad is ideal for avoiding distortion when miking extremely loud sounds such as drums or guitar cabinets. Use the high-pass filter to roll off overabundant bass frequencies that would otherwise muddy your sound.
Resistant to Pops
A double woven steel mesh grille and ultra-thin acoustic foam offer exceptional pop resistance for podcasting and vocals. Behind the grille, the open-air design of the capsule mounting system allows the A133 to deliver transparent, uncolored sound.
Consistent Performance
Proprietary impedance control between the capsule and circuitry ensures consistent and reliable performance across a wide range of environments.
Internal Shockmount
A unique and highly effective internal shockmount isolates the capsule from mechanical vibrations and touch noise, eliminating the need for a bulky external shockmount.
For Studio or Stage
Offering studio performance in a road-worthy package, the A133 also comes with a protective zippered carrying case.
Phantom Powered
The A133 features a balanced XLR 3-pin output and requires 48 to 52 VDC phantom power. For best results, the A133 should be used with a high-quality mic preamplifier and microphone cable.
Made in the USA
The A133 was designed, machined, assembled, and tested in the USA.
